Using kids' natural ability to develop powerful life skills.
Children experience a lot –starting school, making friends, learning, developing skills and unique personalities… Yoga offers children and teens powerful tools for further development and growth that will aid them in every aspect of their lives.  Children are natural yogis with their innate innocence, curiosity, and playful, active natures.  Through special yoga instruction designed for kids and teens they can learn and develop:

  • How to deal with emotions and stress
  • Compassion and generosity
  • Self-respect and respect for others
  • Goal-setting and accountability
  • Building positive habits
  • Positive self-image
  • Importance of physical activity
  • Focus and concentration
Yoga is a dynamic and adaptive activity for children. It is fun and engaging and allows kids to learn while they play. A typical yoga class for children includes:

  • Introducing themselves to the rest of the class and sharing a unique trait or interest
  • Traditional games with a yoga twist; eg. “Simon Says” for yoga poses and “Musical Mats”
  • A story or reflection time
  • Guided breathing (creating awareness and inner calm)

A children’s yoga class builds strength, collaboration, listening skills, and patience.
